The flag of Paraguay: history, features and meaning

Each country has clearly definedState symbols, including the flag. The Republic of Paraguay is no exception, moreover, the images of this state are unique. Initially, the symbol was a blue canvas with a six-pointed star in the upper left corner. However, since the distant 1811 much has changed, and the flag of Paraguay has been transformed by new colors, history, has acquired a new meaning.

The beginning of history

All the colors were taken from the French tricolor: red, blue, white, which in combination mean "liberation". Each of them has a corresponding meaning: red - valor and honor, patriotism and justice, white - purity, unity, peace, blue - peace, love, freedom.

The flag of Paraguay is a continuousa cloth of the classical form. It is worth noting that in the vast majority of countries, state symbols have exactly such characteristics. The parties are related to each other as a proportion of 5: 3.

As noted earlier, the flag of Paraguay isA combination of three colors that are arranged horizontally in an equal proportion on the canvas. The lower part is colored with a saturated blue color, the middle is made white, and the top is a strip of bright scarlet. Exactly in the middle is the state emblem of the country. It is located equidistant from the edges of the panel. On the back, as well as in the center of the flag, the stamp of the Treasury flaunts. Many foreigners are struck by the flag of Paraguay. The peculiarity is that this is the only state, on the symbol of which from different sides there are different emblems.

In 1990, the flag was applied to the flag of Paraguay. On a white background, from that memorable time, there was a five-pointed star, painted in a golden hue. Along with the color symbolism, the symbol is decorated with stylized palm and olive branches. In Spanish, there is an inscription inside the circle: "The Republic of Paraguay".

On the reverse side of the flagthere is, as mentioned before, the emblem of the Treasury. This symbol represents a circle of white color, in the center of which is placed a lion made of gold. The purpose of the king of beasts is to protect the red Phrygian cap, which is a symbol of freedom and permanent revolutionary movements, which are the engine of progress.

The first impetus to the formation and adoption ofThe state symbol was the independence of 1842 from Spain. At that time Paraguay was called "Rio de la Plata". A little later, the people were able to obtain the desired sovereignty from Argentina. All the changes that have taken place since the middle of the nineteenth century concerned primarily the drawing of the state emblem and the seal of the treasury. With all my heart I want to believe that the mission of the flag will be realized throughout the entire period of the state's existence.
