The Trostenskoye Lake. A place for fishing and family recreation.

Near the small village Onufrievo, onOne of the slopes of the Klin-Dmitrovsky ridge, in the basin formed by high hills of glacial origin, is located Trostenskoye Lake, the third largest in the Moscow region. Despite the relatively large area (7.3 sq. Km), its maximum depth hardly reaches 3-4 meters, but the bottom is very muddy, and the banks are swamped. The name of the pond was given by the locals because of the abundance of reed vegetation around the lake. This quiet clean place is located away from the big and noisy roads and settlements.

History of origin, settlement and use

The Trostenskoye lake currently representsa remnant from a very large reservoir left after the last ice age, before it occupied the entire basin. Near it, human sites appeared in the Stone Age, archaeologists have found not one burial of settlements of ancient people. By the rivers flowing into the lake, trade was carried out, and the forest was rafted to Moscow. In the 14th century, the Trostenskoye Lake became a battleground between the Moscow Principality and the Lithuanian. In the 16th century this reservoir went to the monasteries and for a long time remained the property of the church. During the Second World War in the vicinity of the lake there were fierce battles. Under the Soviet Union (in 1966), a sanctuary was established here, which was under the jurisdiction of

Military-Hunting Society. Two fishing bases carried out the rental of boats from which visitors could fish, or enjoy the views that the Trosten lake gives. But, unfortunately, the bases were liquidated in 2006.

Flora and fauna

As already mentioned, the lake is surrounded by densethickets of reeds, but also the woody vegetation is sufficiently developed. Although, after mass cutting down in the past, the species composition was severely damaged, the forest was almost completely deprived of valuable tree species. For 150-200 meters to the shore the forest passes into reeds, sedges and reeds. From the shallow vegetation, the Trostenskoye Lake boasts rare species, some of which are included in the Red Book of the Moscow Region. Rich in water and ichthyofauna, it attracted and still attracts fishermen from all over the region and not only. The most numerous are the populations of perch and roach, but there is fish

and larger, for example, pike, burbot, bream and ide. By the end of the 20th century, because of poaching, fish stocks declined sharply, the situation was complicated by the closure of fishing bases and the weakening of state control. But strangely enough, it is the fish that the Trostenskoye lake is famous for.

Fishing and recreation

Thanks to good ecology and rich compositionthe ichthyofauna of the Trostenskoye lake, whose photo is picturesque, attracts many fishermen and tourists. A number of rivers will flow into the reservoir, but, remarkably, the river also flows from it, it is called Ozerna. The nearest settlement (village Onufrievo) is located 1000 meters to the southeast. Previously, fishing bases provided visitors with everything necessary, but now if you decide to fish, you will have to carry both a boat and a tent with you. This place is also great for a family holiday in nature. You can agree on housing with local residents, or you can rest "savages" in tents near the fire.
