Forest Animals in Russia

Unlike the northern forests of the taiga on the territory of broad-leaved forests of Russia, the climate is milder. The rich world of plants and diverse forest animals are distinguished by dense broad-leaved forests.

The forest animals inhabiting here are affected bythe vegetable world of these forests. For example, a wood grouse, an ordinary resident of the northern part of the forests and taiga, no longer occurs in deciduous forests, as it feeds on needles. But already there is a black grouse. The farther south, the more foxes and hares appear, besides the agricultural fields add food to them. Foxes feed on mice with voles, and hares - winter wheat shoots.

In the deciduous forests, not for example coniferous, muchmore species of shrubs and trees, so that the animal world there is richer and more diverse than the animal world of the northern forests. Most of all in broad-leaved forests there are insectivorous and grainy species of birds. Numerous squirrels and wild boars feed on acorns and nuts - their favorite food.

The most common forest animals in Russiain the deciduous forests - a brown bear, marten, lynx, mink, squirrel, black chorus and weasel. To the south are more often hare-hare, a gray partridge and a hamster, which from the steppes fall into broad-leaved forests.

Trees and shrubs serve as a reliable protection againstbad weather and enemies, as well as in the forest a large number of different natural shelters, diverse and large reserves of animal and vegetable feed. Many mammalian forest animals are able to climb trees. These are sony, marten martens, squirrels, etc. They are characterized by moving limbs with sharp claws on them. Some of these animals, for example, in Sonya and squirrels, have special pads on the soles of their feet, and on the foot there are extensions serving them for a firm grasp of the branches on the trees.

Some of the climbing animals are only able toclimb on the tree trunk, others can use while moving and the thin branches that climb from tree to tree, while others make long jumps along a straight line or upwards during a lasagna. There are also flying squirrels with leather webs on the sides, using them for a planning flight. In the forest world, you can even meet bats - the situation in the forest is very favorable for their way of life.

Some forest animals and food fortrees, and escape from enemies, and create a shelter for themselves and for posterity. Such mammals as: flying squirrel, squirrel, bat, marten and others use to hide the hollows of trees, natural or created by woodpeckers. Even a black bear uses for its winter sleep hollows of huge trees growing in the far east. Some animals, for example, sony and squirrels, build their own spherical nests on trees or use bird-like nests. A variety of birds and animals, able to climb trees, has caused the appearance of predators that are able to hunt on trees. In the fauna of Russia, they include the Kharza and the forest marten.

Forest animals are also represented by a small number of shrews: among predators, you can call a badger, the rest are mostly moles, underground voles and moguls.

Some ungulates live in the forest zone: northern, spotted and noble deer, roe deer, elk, wild boar and bison. Forest ungulates are much heavier and slower compared to desert-steppe. Herd ungulates are much less developed herd. They mostly walk alone, in pairs and small herds. Only in winter time they gather in larger flocks due to the limitations of places suitable for wintering and because of difficulties in moving in deep snow.

Animals of the forest zone feed on vegetativeparts of shrubs and trees, especially their seeds and fruits, which are high-calorie food, the second such is not in any other landscapes, except for cereals.
