Plaster on lighthouses - pledge of even walls

The word "plaster" became ordinary for us andnatural. Anyway, we encounter it in everyday life, but few people think about how it appeared. But its history is one thousand years old.

The oldest traces of plaster, which were discovered by scientists, number more than 9000 years.
Originally it consisted of clay and straw. According to some historical data, Egyptians used powdered calcined gypsum mixed with water as a plaster. But thanks to the ancient Romans there was decorative plaster, later called "Venetian". It included waste processing marble. They were mixed with slaked lime, diluted with water and applied to the wall.

Types of plaster

With the passage of time and the development of technology, the composition of the plaster has changed, but only one thing remains unchanged: it is the method of applying it.

At present, during the constructionworks are most often used plaster on lighthouses. This method of application makes it possible to obtain an even and vertical surface. This further allows you to significantly facilitate the carrying out of finishing works, such as wallpapering, tiling with ceramic tiles.

In those cases where it is not required to create a strictly vertical surface, and plaster is only needed to protect the wall from external

factors, produce plastering without the use of beacons.

And, finally, decorative plaster. It is performed on the already prepared smooth surface. As its name implies, its purpose is to decorate the walls. For this purpose, ready-made mixtures or manufactured ones are used. They are applied with a spatula, a thin layer, after drying, or painted, or covered with wax to give a glossy surface.
