Domestic boxing is a matter of our pridecountry for all time. It is for certain that boxers and coaches who have been trained in Soviet times are real masters of their craft and have always represented their country in all world competitions with dignity. In the modern galaxy of Russian sports figures, who have passed all the difficulties of the transition period from the Soviet Union to today's Russia, I particularly want to highlight the acting coach named Lebzyak Alexander. About his sporting fate will be discussed in this article.

A few facts

A famous boxer, and now a coach, was born inthe city of Donetsk on April 15, 1969. But already literally a year later Lebzyak Alexander with his parents moved to the Magadan region (the village of Burkandiya). The guy's father worked in the mine and mined gold.

The village itself was removed from the regional center bythe whole 900 kilometers and hid among mountains and hills. At the same time, he did not differ in anything from other similar mining towns and had a population of about three thousand people.

Childhood

Lebzyak Alexander grew up as an ordinary guy. Like many of his peers, he played hockey, climbed the old mine workings, ran around the streets, where sometimes he had to fight. Especially strongly the young man waited for summer to enjoy fishing and hiking for mushrooms and berries. It goes without saying that this situation did not have too much for Sasha to quickly reveal any talents in himself, and generally to decide in life. But everything changed the case ....

Acquaintance with the master

So would Sasha continue to live in the ordinary yarda boy, if the teacher of physical culture and part-time coach Vasily Nikolaevich Denisenko did not come to their village. Thanks to his appearance in the town, the life of local youth has changed dramatically. Denisenko began to conduct classes with the guys on the forbidden at that time karate and all favorite boxing. In his section, Lebzyak enrolled.

Training took place in very harsh conditions. The gym had only two bags of water and one mat. The coach was also strict: he introduced a rule according to which he checked the marks in the diaries of the children before training and could send him home for a bad schooling or put him on a bench. Of course, none of the guys, including Lebzyak Alexander, did not want to sit up his pants. The first major victory of Sasha was the third place in the regional championship.

Study in a boarding school

Amateur boxing in those days provided for the existence of special boarding schools in which promising athletes learned, trained and lived.

In 1985, Alexander was already quite goodproved itself both in the region and the region due to its numerous victories. In this regard, he received an invitation to Magadan Sports School No. 12. It was in it that he began to train under the direction of the Honored Coach of Russia Gennady Mikhaylovich Ryzhikov.

Education in the boarding school was a heavy burden: Every day after school, extremely exhausting training was conducted. And this despite the fact that the guys were away from home, parents, loved ones. Two of Lebzyak's friends could not stand the loads and returned to their native walls. Sasha himself repeatedly broke home, but still the love of boxing took over.

Major victories

Patience and perseverance did their job, and Lebzyak Alexander Borisovich won regional and all-union competitions. These successes provided him with a place in the youth national team of the country.

In 1987, the Soviet boxer was able to tastea really important victory, because he became the world champion among juniors in weight up to 71 kg. And in the finals he defeated the Cuban - the legislator of the fashion of amateur boxing. Thanks to this success, Lebzyak realized that amateur boxing is his way, previously he did not have such firm confidence.

Army

The period from 1987 to 1989 Lebziak spent in the army. Initially, he asked to go to Afghanistan, but he was not allowed to go there as a talented boxer, but was sent to serve in the tank regiment of Magadan.

After being discharged to the reserve, having shoulder straps on his shouldersensign, Alexander was enlisted in the Red Banner Far East District. He continued to box. And in 1991 he reached the finals of the European and World Championships. But, unfortunately, the first places escaped him.

Moving to the capital

The worst thing is that the recurrence with a lung rupture in the athlete was repeated at the games in Atlanta, and directly during the fight. But even such a terrible injury did not stop the boxer, and he brought the fight to the end, although he was later forced to withdraw from the competition.

The series of problems cast doubt on himability to be first. Many experts have already given up on him, believing that he will never be the best. However, Alexander himself said that his problem was not psychology, but the so-called "physics", because weight accumulation made itself felt and had an extremely negative impact on his health.

Together with his coach Alexander Lebzyak, boxingfor which then was above all else, decides to pursue a career and rises to the category above, starting to perform in weight up to 81 kilograms. This move was in favor of the athlete, and he began to win all the prestigious tournaments. In 1997, he became the world champion in Budapest, in 1998 and 2000 he won the European Championship. It should be noted that Lebzjak neverI did not lose to anyone. He was the champion of the USSR, won the Spartakiad of the peoples of the USSR, repeatedly won the USSR Cup, was six-time champion of the Russian Federation. Everything as a whole was not bad, but there was only one unconquered peak - Olympic gold.

Sydney 2000

As a rule, Olympic champions in boxing arepeople who won the award at a fairly young age. Therefore, when Lebziak was going to the games in Australia, everyone understood perfectly well that this was his last chance to win, because the next Olympiad was already inaccessible to him because of the "retirement age" from a sporting point of view.

In the end, he still spent one fight in the tournament, which confidently won by knockout. But still he decided to give up performances as a professional and switched to coaching.

At the main post

Starting in 2013, the coach of the Russian national teamboxing Alexander Lebzyak confidently leads the country's main team. However, this is not his first command of the best boxers in Russia. In the period from 2005 to 2008, he also dealt with fighters of this level.

In 2010, he was president of the Moscow Boxing Federation, and in 2012 he was even adviser to the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Moscow Government.

As for personal preferences and hobbies,Lebzyak is an avid motorist, loves hockey, tennis and football. He tries to spend all his spare time with his family, especially since he already has grandchildren. In addition, he gladly reads various encyclopedias, watches historical films, listens often to the Russian stage and chanson.

He was awarded the Order of Honor, "For Services to the Fatherland", has a medal "In Memory of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow".

In his family there is a universal favorite - GermanShepherd, nicknamed Buster. The dog received this nickname from Alexander in honor of the famous American boxer James Douglas, who was the first in the history of sports to knock out the legendary "Iron" Mike Tyson sensationally and take away his champion title.
