Cancellation of transport tax

To date, "taxes" our populationpays a lot. Among others, there is a transport tax, the cancellation of which is planned in the highest circles of power. To compensate losses is solved due to the increase in fuel prices. Such attempts were already made in 2010, but they did not give a positive result: the tax remained in place, and excises for gasoline increased. And although the law reduced the basic rate of payment by half, the changes did not happen. Since the amount of transport tax is set by the subjects of the federation, then they have the right to increase it. This led to the fact that in some regions the price did not just remain the same, but increased two or three times, and the cancellation of the transport tax did not yield any results.

And now it's worth turning to history and lookingstatistics. For the first time this kind of payments started talking in Russia in 1994. Then the transport tax was paid only by organizations. The funds received by the state went to the development of passenger transport of any kind. This continued until November 1997. Then the law was corrected, and the owners of cars began to pay. When determining the payments, engine horsepower was taken into account. This interpretation is similar to the modern one.

In 1999, a new mandatory tax oncertain types of transport. It turned out that for one car with an engine capacity of 2500 cc. the owner had to pay twice: as the owner of the car and as having a separate mode of transport. Naturally, the population showed discontent, and the result was the cancellation of the transport tax, which obliged to pay for the presence of a car with the above-mentioned engine capacity.

The present transport tax has been in effect since 2003. Its difference is that it has become a regional instead of a federal one. Its amount is calculated based on the engine power of the car.

And now let us return to the question of what preventedcompletely cancel this type of duty, and is there any hope that the cancellation of the 2012 transport tax is not just talk. Although, most likely, everything will remain as before - in fact in 2011 the authorities decide to resume the activity of the institute of road funds in the country. The budget of these organizations consists of gasoline prices and payment of taxes on transport. The money goes to build new roads and renovate old ones. It is also planned to build toll roads in Russia. But in the West, roads are maintained, attracting private investment. Russia in the old manner uses its car owners.

It is still not quite clear how, what, and where it works, and in connection with the fact that they once again started talking about the fact that the abolition of the transport tax is not fiction, it is not at all clear what will happen to gasoline prices. So far nothing has happened. But the mayor's office in Moscow, led by S. Sobyanin, initiated an initiative to raise the rates of payment of transportation taxes starting from 2013. The LDPR party put forward a counter initiative - to return to the discussion of the question of lifting the transport tax. The President supported this idea, but pointed out that this step should be taken gradually, without hurrying up, without shocks for the people and sharp movements.

In addition, many public and politicalfigures and movements have repeatedly called on the current power in the country to meet the common people in solving this issue. The abolition of the transport tax will go to the state only for the benefit, since the current scheme is unreasonable and only causes discontent. Here you can recall the large-scale action held by the Federation of Russian Car Owners (FAR) to collect signatures in favor of cancellation of the current tax. The made appeal to the president of the Russian Federation was signed by 100 thousand people. Experts note that the failure of previous attempts to abolish the transport tax in Russia is due to biased information about the increase in prices for gasoline and other fuels.
